It's the activation DRM, even if you still have activations left, the vanilla exe file that comes with your steam download can still bug up, the DRM-free executable by Fairlight on the internet can solve the crash on start! ![]() My system: intel i5-11400H Nvidia 3050RTX Windows 11 ![]() Tried the guide with the 10+core fix, putting the two dll files inside the dead space 2 folder next to the ds2exe, tried dxvk from PCGamingWiki, tried making a settings txt file in the local appdata/ea games/dead space 2 folder with a resolution set, tried setting the compatibility stuff for ds2exe tried windows xp sp 2,3, windows 7, 8, tried admin rights, tried disabling fullscreen optimizations. ![]() Yeah, I don't even get a 5 second black screen like some people, I double click the shortcut or the deadspace2 exe file directly, and I see for 1 second the spinning loading mouse cursor, but then nothing, a bunch of deadspace2 exe crash dump dmp files inside my local appdata crash dump folder, but I can't read that garbled mess. ![]()
